Your mission

  • Technical research (e.g. prior art & state-of-the-art)
  • Regular screening of IP landscape, e.g. new filings
  • Competition screening & benchmarking
  • Identify possibilities for new protection: collaboration with production sites, technical departments, continuous improvement; run workshops, involvement in development projects
  • Admin & project managing applications / legal actions
  • Be the point of contact for IP related topics like ideas, FTO questions etc. for the business unit
  • Manage technical documentation for filings, oppositions and other legal actions
  • FTO analyses
  • Correspondence with attorneys as well as keeping oversight and management of legal processes


Your profile

  • Analytical skills and mind-set 
  • Passion for technology and technical developments
  • Strength in (project) coordination, organized style of working
  • Interest to build up extensive product and process knowledge
  • Readiness to travel internationally about 10% of time, e.g. to production sites
  • Interest in IP management and familiarity with framework of international patent-law (EP, PCT, legal processes, …)
  • Preferably Master’s degree (or comparable) in a technical area e.g. engineering / natural sciences with preference for pulp and paper technology
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, time sensitive and collaborative environment
  • 2+ years experience in technical and/or IP field, ideally both
  • Prior experience in the paper industry is an advantage
  • Good skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent command of English language, in speaking and writing at a level of discussion about technical and legal details. Any other language is an advantage.

Our offer

  • Location: Group office Vienna – Marxergasse 4A, 1030 Vienna
  • Start: as soon as possible, considering your availability (e.g. notice period)
  • Extent: full-time, 38 hours/week, all-in contract
  • We offer a minimum compensation package starting at € 58,000 gross/year on a full-time basis (38 hours/week), with the opportunity of overpayment depending on your experience, skills and qualification.
