Role Summary:

The Innovation & Application Engineer supports our drive for growth by proactively developing, optimising, and commercialising innovative eCommerce packaging solutions. Working closely with the International Key Account (IKA) and regional sales teams, the role identifies new opportunities, leads customer-focused solution development, and manages cross-functional projects from concept through to implementation.

This role emphasises proactive innovation, packaging optimisation across fulfilment and distribution environments, and leveraging operational insights from eCommerce supply chains to deliver scalable, value-driven solutions.

A dedicated testing team supports validation activities, while this role leads application design, project execution, and commercial deployment.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Partner with IKA and regional sales teams to identify, qualify, and convert high-value eCommerce growth opportunities.
  • Lead technical customer engagements, translating operational challenges into commercially viable, value-driven packaging solutions.
  • Drive innovative packaging concepts and optimisation initiatives that improve cost efficiency, volumetric utilisation, sustainability, and supply chain performance.
  • Design application-specific packaging solutions tailored to fulfilment, transport, and last-mile delivery environments.
  • Define technical requirements and guide validation activities, refining designs to ensure scalable performance.
  • Leverage eCommerce operations and supply chain expertise to position packaging as a strategic value driver for customers.
  • Lead cross-functional innovation and commercialisation projects, acting as the primary technical liaison to deliver revenue-generating implementations.


Your Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in packaging development, application engineering, or eCommerce packaging solutions
  • Experience or strong familiarity with eCommerce operations, fulfilment environments, or distribution supply chains strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and customer-facing technical initiatives
  • Knowledge of packaging optimisation, material efficiency, and sustainability principles preferred
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; German, Polish and/or other language would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel on average 50%
