POSITION PURPOSE:
- The Commercial Excellence Manager Americas role will co-develop commercial excellence strategy and improve the performance of Paper Bags Americas sales team by giving them the tools, training, reports, and content so sales representatives can continuously add value to every customer engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Co-develop commercial excellence strategy through working closely with Paper Bags Americas OpCo team; followed by organization of annual sales meeting in 2023 in order to roll-out the strategy
- Define and recommend projects and actions plans based on analytics outcomes to increase sales / margins
- Maintain close collaboration with Flexible Packaging Commercial Excellence team in Vienna regarding centrally managed projects
- Hire sales junior analyst who will focus on (i) reporting of sales, market and industry association (PSSMA) data, (ii) support of sales team with Mondi sales excellence tools, (iii) maintaining sales data / analytics and their availability for VP Sales US and Sales Director Mexico and (iv) preparing executive management presentations
- Support the sales pipeline being filled according to targets and ensure good quality of prospective customers
- Conduct customers surveys and build efficient action plans to improve their satisfaction
- Identify improvement needs out of COPA data and collaborate with sales team to validate, prioritize and implement
- Organize plans, sales forecasts and their follow up
- Liaise closely with the PB Americas controlling team on the usage of COPA data
- Monitor US and LATAM market data, analyze them and work with them together with the sales team
- Responsible for increasing sales force effectiveness by enhancing the existing sales operation tools/processes (e.g. CRM, BI)
- Role model excellence behaviors, particularly demonstrated through close interfaces between Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations
- Inspires and motivates others, living and promoting the Mondi values
- Reporting monthly sales gains and losses and managing “reasons” for such gains and losses
- Support and provide input to assist with “go to market” sales strategy
- Support coordination of sales budget process
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree (MBA considered a plus).
- Mastery of commercial tools, processes, strategic synthesis/concepts and MS Excel/PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated business acumen and commercial/strategic understanding.
- Financial literacy - Financial knowledge for P&L and margin/price decision-making.
- 5+ years demonstrated commercial operations experience (analyst, marketing) or consulting background.
- Knowledge of relevant applications, value chains and factors determining product needs, key buying factors and value drivers.
- Intercultural sensitivity and awareness
- Rigorous and highly accountable in daily actions, keeps promises and agreements
- Fluent in English. (Second language considered a plus)
