Your mission

Centrally based in our North American Headquarters, the Payroll & Benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with payroll processing and benefits administration. Reporting to the Benefits Director, this critical bi-functional role will provide the benefits administrative support needed as well as assist the Senior Payroll Specialist with payroll administrative needs.  

  • Assist with Full Cycle, multi-state payroll processing – end to end.

  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees, managers, and vendors with a high level of customer service and integrity.  

  • Partner with plant-based payroll admins to respond to technical questions as well as troubleshoot payroll processing issues.  

  • Create reports & prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll & finance reports for distribution to multiple departments 

  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs.

  • Balance and fund 401K loans, employee contributions, and company match. 

  • Build strong relationships with Benefit vendors to proactively manage issues with claims, eligibility, and annual enrolment planning.   

Your profile

  • Prior experience with HR, payroll, and/or benefits. 

  • Prior knowledge of working with HRIS/payroll systems required, ADP Workforce Now & eTime preffered.  

  • Previous payroll experience with multi-site, multi-state exempt & non-exempt populations preferred.   

  • Excellent MS Excel skills – pivot tables, vlookups, complex spreadsheets.  

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
