Summary:
Materials Manager ensures that the production facility has a steady, cost-efficient supply of materials required to maintain uninterrupted production. This role acts as a bridge between procurement, production, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules.
Your Mission:
- Use historical data, sales trends, and market forecasts to predict future raw material requirements
- Generate purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials meet quality specifications and arrive on time
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to manage inventory data and scheduling parameters
- Liaison with external vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve order discrepancies, and manage supply disruptions
- Work closely with scheduler and operations managers to adjust material plans based on schedule changes, cancellations, or new priorities
- Responsible for Raw Material inventory accuracy
- Backup corporate buyer during absences and vacations
- Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
- Responsible for evaluating suppliers on the basis of delivery, products and service
- Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members when needed.
- Works with the Service and Production on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Maintain relationships and negotiates with suppliers when needed
- Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and customer demands
- Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
- Maintain a positive working environment among employees
- Participate in monthly update/review meetings

Your Profile:
- At least 5 years manufacturing or related experience
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills required
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or JIT (Just-in-Time) inventory practices
- Technical Training preferred
- Industrial Safety Training preferred
- Willingness to work flexible schedules
