E-Commerce Account Manager – Flexible Packaging

Summary: 

Own and grow strategic e-commerce accounts, positioning Mondi as a preferred partner for mailer and protective packaging solutions. You’ll drive profitable growth with leading retailers, marketplaces, and high-growth DTC brands across the Americas, with clear ownership of customer relationships, contracts, and performance. Based in our Romeoville, IL headquarters, this position offers virtual flexibility with travel.  

 

  

Your Mission: 

  • Own assigned e-commerce and omnichannel customers, ensuring profitable growth, pricing discipline, and operational excellence while aligning with Mondi’s sustainability commitments and global capabilities. 

  • Scale Mondi’s e-commerce platform by supporting large retailers and marketplaces as well as high-growth DTC brands with fit-for-purpose, mailer-centric and protective packaging solutions. 

  • Partner with internal teams and the Director of E-Commerce – Sales to build relationships and deliver value-based products focused on cost savings, efficiency, sustainability, and customer experience. 

  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional stakeholders in a global organization. 

  • Support sales team in the management of strong opportunity pipeline; provide accurate volume and revenue forecasts. 

  • Function as the primary contact for accounts, ensuring fast, transparent, and solution-oriented communication. 

  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to secure excellent service and delivery performance. 

  • Monitor OTIF, quality issues, and complaints; drive root cause actions and communicate outcomes. 

  • Understand customer pain points in fulfillment, automation, packaging efficiency, and sustainability. 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement tailored packaging solutions, support trials, and rollouts. 

  • Translate customer needs in fulfillment, automation, and sustainability into packaging solutions 

  • Track competitor offerings and pricing; share insights to support strategy and product development. 

  

Your Profile: 

  • 2+ years’ experience in Customer Service, Account Management / Strategic Sales, Marketing, or comparable function ideally in packaging, logistics, eCommerce, or FMCG 

  • Proven history supporting or managing large national key accounts with complex structures and multi-site operations. 

  • Experience working with major eCommerce players (e.g., large marketplaces, online retailers, parcel carriers, or D2C brands) is a strong advantage. 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills 

  • Structured, data-driven, and execution-focused; able to convert opportunities into concrete, measurable results. 

  • Comfortable working in an international, matrix environment and leading cross-functional teams without formal authority
