Summary:
The Director, Employee Relations & HR Policy leads the enterprise strategy for employee relations, labor relations, and HR policy across the Americas while serving as the HR People Partner for the Mondi Americas HQ team. This strategic role shapes organizational culture, mitigates enterprise risk, and drives people strategies to enable business performance.
Your Mission:
• Develop ER and labor relations frameworks, standards, and reporting mechanisms aligned with Group HR to ensure consistency and legal compliance
• Lead complex, high-risk employee relations matters, including sensitive investigations and senior leadership cases
• Advise HR and business leaders on ER trends, risks, and mitigation strategies
• Partner with Legal and HR teams on collective bargaining strategy, contract interpretation, and labor relations
• Lead preparation for labor negotiations, including data analysis and long-term strategy development
• Build leadership capability across union and non-union environments through training and guidance
• Design and scale HR policy frameworks across locations, functions, and business units
• Lead creation, governance, and revision of HR policies in line with federal and local regulations
• Drive policy change management, communication, and adoption across the Americas
• Oversee policy analytics, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Partner with Legal, IT, Finance, and Group HR to ensure compliant and seamless implementation of policies
• Serve as strategic HR partner for Americas HQ, influencing business strategy through people insights
• Drive leadership development, organizational design, and succession planning
• Champion culture, engagement, and DEI initiatives at an enterprise level
Your Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with increasing scope and complexity
• Minimum 5 years of experience in employee relations, labor relations, and HR governance in large, multi-location organizations
• Proven experience building scalable HR processes and frameworks during periods of growth
• Demonstrated success advising executive leadership and influencing enterprise-wide decisions
• Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments preferred
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus
• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 20–30%, with occasional international travel
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate strategically while managing complex, sensitive issues
Our Offer:
• Base salary range of $170K – $190K, with bonus
