Your Mission:

  • Supervise all rail siding activities i.e. Receiving rail and road deliveries to the mill
  • Co-ordinate rail siding activities between supply chain and Transnet Freight Rail
  • Verify incoming timber loads for correct species, load mass against the delivery note and standard specification check list
  • Monitor and ensure railway-bridge operates within specified parameters
  • Minimize road trucks and rail wagons turn-around times as per procedure
  • Co-ordinate the movement of production vehicles with the mill.
  • Carry out administrative duties according to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain the required standards of safety and good housekeeping within the rail siding to prevent derailments
  • Supervise shunting and offloading of coal trucks to meet prescribed turn-around times
  • Ensure quality of wood complies to Mill procedures and standards
  • Monitor and Maintain housekeeping and safety standards
  • Carry out all reasonable tasks as instructed
  • Provide plant support to the Production Manager
  • Adhere to safety, health and environmental issues
  • Supervision of the log yard activities
  • Ensure accurate reporting

 

Your Profile:

  • Matric plus N4 (Supervisory Management)
  • Relevant Trade Test
  • National Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology or Chemical Engineering
  • BTech would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Woodyard environment, preferably as an Area or Section Operator
  • 1 – 2 Years Leadership experience would be advantageous
