Summary:
The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement operations to support business objectives related to cost, quality, service, risk mitigation, and supply assurance. This role manages a team of buyers and procurement professionals while partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Quality, Sales, and Leadership teams to develop and execute procurement strategies across direct and indirect spend categories.
The role also carries responsibility for multi-site and regional procurement leadership, ensuring alignment, standardization, and execution of procurement strategies across multiple facilities or business locations.
The Senior Procurement Manager will drive supplier performance, optimize working capital, support inventory and operational goals, and ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
This position has remote flexibility with a preference location near one of our US sites.
Your Mission:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Directly manage and develop Buyers and other procurement personnel.
- Establish team priorities, workload distribution, and procurement objectives.
- Provide leadership oversight across multiple manufacturing sites or regional operations.
- Coach and mentor team members to support professional development and succession planning.
- Ensure procurement strategy alignment, process standardization, and best practice sharing across locations.
- Partner with site leadership teams to support operational priorities, inventory management, and supply continuity initiatives.
- Drive accountability, standardization, and continuous improvement across procurement processes.
- Support performance management activities including goal setting, feedback, and development plans.
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities.
- Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, supply risks, tariffs, and commodity impacts to support sourcing decisions.
- Support dual sourcing and supply continuity initiatives to minimize operational risk.
Supplier Management:
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance metrics related to quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Conduct supplier business reviews and drive corrective actions where needed.
- Partner with Quality and Operations on supplier claims, nonconformances, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support supplier onboarding, compliance documentation, and risk assessments.
Contract & Compliance Management:
- Negotiate commercial terms, payment terms, and service agreements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal controls, approval authorities, and purchasing policies.
- Support vendor master governance and procurement system compliance.
- Ensure requisition, PO, and contract processes are followed appropriately.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field.
- 7–10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- Experience managing procurement activities across multiple sites or regional operations preferred.
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing strategic suppliers.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within SAP and procurement platforms such as Ariba preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective skills to build relationships and productively interface with all levels of the business.
