Cost Accountant

Your Mission
- Analysis of daily production orders, reviewing paperwork for correctness of raw materials consumption, process costs incurred and finished good produced
- Monitors production virtual inventories daily
- Coordinates with production the proper reporting of machine hours per order
- Reviews standard and actual costs for variances and analyzes variances
- Analyzes and monitors raw material and WIP inventories
- Maintains the integrity of the inventory system and its standardization
- Reviews and monitors purchase orders and work across departments to determine purchase price variance and its impact on actual vs standard costs
- Manage daily/weekly/monthly raw material usage including reconciliation through inventory counts.
- Establishes cycle counts and wall-to-wall physical inventory counts, investigating variances that might arise
- Monitors bill of materials to ensure standard costs correctness
- Validates the cost of goods sold and inventory changes as part of the month-end close
- Reviews the spare parts inventory
- Maintains the accuracy of the cost center accounting across departments
- Assists during the month end close of the General Ledger
- Processes AP invoices for vendor payments
- Supports in the development of machine rates and process costs
- Verify correct pricing on invoicing to customers
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly costs reports based upon key metrics.
- Work to develop basic skill sets of other team members in areas which impact cost accounting (receiving, purchasing, production)
- Other duties as they arise.
Your Profile
- 2-4 years of experience in Cost Accounting in Manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis on Accounting, Finance, or another applicable field.
- Basic accounting ERP knowledge (SAP preferred)
- Strong understanding of business processes
- Strong ability to conduct research, analyze data, and resolve complex problems
- Basic standard cost knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a positive attitude
- High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments, but with the aptitude to maintain a big picture perspective
- Effective skills to build relationships and productively interface with all levels of the Business
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong focus on Excel
