Your mission:

 

We’re looking for an Applications Engineer to provide expert technical support to our customers, solve complex challenges, and drive product development. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and suppliers, conduct trials, troubleshoot systems, and ensure products meet customer requirements. Travel to customer and vendor sites is required.

 

  • Manage product development projects for existing and new customers.
  • Define customer specifications in collaboration with quality and process engineers.
  • Develop and execute test methods to ensure product quality and meet customer expectations.
  • Oversee on-site trials with production and quality teams.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend solutions.
  • Document trial processes and product parameters using MES, SAP, Excel, Mini-Tab, and other systems.
  • Troubleshoot systems using deductive reasoning and technical expertise.
  • Generate accurate, detailed, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Deliver presentations and training to customers and internal teams.
  • Mentor employees to support professional growth.
  • Represent Mondi at business associations such as PSTC, TLMI, and CELAB.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product safety, including Proposition 65, REACH, and heavy metal content.
  • Maintain and manage internal product specification systems in SAP.
  • Travel to customer and vendor sites as needed, sometimes on short notice.
  • Support quality complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and optimize raw materials. Product development for existing as well as new customers.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in paper/film engineering, process engineering, packaging technology, chemical engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years in release liner/paper/film manufacturing, coating, packaging, or similar industry.
  • Experience with data networks troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and implement effectively.
  • Proficiency in computers (Windows, Microsoft Office).
  • Industry certification (e.g., CTS) preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Our offer

 

In alignment with New Jersey pay transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position is up to $80k per year. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with Mondi’s compensation framework.
