Your Mission:
The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Supervisor is to to oversee the management of spare parts, consumables, and chemical inventory. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate stock control, efficient warehouse operations, and the safe handling and storage of materials. The supervisor will lead a team of 6 warehouse staff, driving high performance and operational excellence.
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of spare parts, consumables, and chemicals.
- Ensure accurate inventory management using ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Oversee safe storage and handling of chemicals and material goods, in compliance with internal standards and safety regulations
- Liaise with suppliers of Mondi Hinton who provide vendor managed inventory services.
- Coordinate regular stock counts, cycle counts, and variance investigations.
- Manage incoming deliveries and inspect for quality, quantity, and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, adhering to 5S or lean principles.
- Work with maintenance group to keep up with regular maintenance of the warehouse as well as the tools used within.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and procurement teams to ensure availability of critical spares and consumables.
- Maintain Safe Operating Procedures for area of responsibility. Adhering to ISO and Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program Standards.
- Train, guide, and evaluate the performance of a team of 6 warehouse personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and internal policies at all times.
- Report KPIs such as stock accuracy, order fulfillment rate, and downtime due to part unavailability.
Your Profile:
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is an asset
- 2–5 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Valid driver’s license (sometimes required)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of inventory control systems (e.g., SAP)
- Familiarity with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, warehouse management software)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
