Lab Supervisor

Your mission:
The Lab Supervisor is responsible for the efficient management of our laboratory facilities, ensuring the quality and compliance of our Kraft Pulp production processes. This role involves overseeing a team of laboratory technicians, conducting quality control tests, generating reports, and maintaining a safe and environmentally compliant laboratory environment. The Lab Supervisor plays a vital role in upholding the quality standards of our pulp manufacturing and contributes to the continuous improvement of our processes. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem from time to time.

  • Supervise and lead a team of laboratory technicians.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all testing and analysis activities are carried out efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment in compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a robust quality control program for Kraft Pulp production.
  • Ensure the testing and analysis of pulp samples, and the monitoring of production processes, to meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
  • Analyze test data, generate reports, and communicate findings to the production team and management.
  • Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, ensuring that adequate resources are available for testing and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain safety protocols within the laboratory.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the laboratory team.

 

Your profile:

  • Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, equipment, and analytical techniques relevant to the pulp and paper industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
  • The desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role, with a strong background in Kraft Pulp or pulp and paper manufacturing.
