Instrumentation Maintenance Planner

Your mission:
Reporting to the Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Superintendent, the primary responsibility of the Instrumentation Maintenance Planner is to optimize the use of the Maintenance work force through Estimation, Planning, Scheduling, Coordination of Preventative and Corrective Maintenance work within the facility. To be successful in this role requires great organizational skills, alignment in company values, a collaborative leadership style and a personal commitment to safety. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem from time to time.

  • Estimate work orders for material, manpower, tools and equipment requirements
  • Create and revise Job Plans for corrective and preventative maintenance work
  • Key Responsibilities within the daily and weekly Planning and Scheduling Work Team meetings
  • Manage the work order backlog by conducting regular reviews of the backlog with the Planning and Scheduling Work Team to ensure accuracy
  • Work with the Operations Superintendents to prioritize the backlog and reporting of Key Performance Indicators to drive process improvement
  • Coordinating contract services for weekly routine and shutdown work
  • Coordinate scheduled jobs into weekly schedules according to manpower, materials, tools, and equipment
  • Generate and distribute the weekly schedule along with work packages for all scheduled jobs to the Instrumentation Supervisor

  • Strong leadership, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of computer software and applications, with a preference given to a candidate with Maximo/SAP and MS Project experience 
  • Great organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team building skills
  • The desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed
  • A valid Instrumentation and or Electrical trade certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science/Engineering
  • Experience in Instrumentation, Automation and Controls is required
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in either a pulp mill or heavy industrial setting is preferred
