Role Summary

 

As Global Learning Transformation Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming Mondi's global learning landscape.

This is far more than a traditional Learning & Development position. You'll lead the evolution of our learning ecosystem, ensuring learning becomes a strategic business enabler that develops critical capabilities, supports organisational transformation and creates exceptional employee learning experiences.

Reporting to the Head of Talent & D&I, and working closely with senior business leaders, HR, Talent and Functional Academies, you'll help shape how learning, skills, leadership development and career architecture come together to prepare Mondi for the future.

Location: At any major European Mondi location or home-office based in Europe, with 20–40% travel.

 

Your Mission

 

  • Define and deliver Mondi's global learning transformation strategy aligned with our People Strategy.
  • Evolve Mondi Academy into a modern, scalable and digital-first learning ecosystem.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, capability building and innovation across the organisation.
  • Design, continuously improve and programme manage our signature learning courses globally.
  • Shape Mondi's skills agenda by connecting learning with Job Architecture, career pathways and future capability needs.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify critical skills gaps and translate them into impactful learning solutions aligned with our 70/20/10 model.
  • Ensure leadership, expert and functional development programmes support long-term business priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on learning, talent and organisational capability.
  • Build strong partnerships across HR, Functional Academies and the business to embed learning into everyday performance.
  • Drive collaboration and best-practice sharing across Mondi's global learning community.
  • Own the end-to-end global learning experience, ensuring high-quality, engaging and business-relevant programmes.
  • Lead Mondi's learning operations development, external partnerships and learning technologies.
  • Support the ongoing HR transformation agenda, including the integration of learning within the broader digital people ecosystem (SAP SuccessFactors LMS).
  • Define success measures that demonstrate business value and organisational impact.
  • Use learning analytics, skills data and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve programmes and inform future priorities.

 

Your Profile

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and programme management roles with increasing responsibility, including at least 5 years leading a learning and development function.
  • Demonstrated experience driving learning transformation, capability building or organisational change within a complex international organisation.
  • Experience designing and implementing global learning strategies, leadership development programmes and learning ecosystems, preferably within a lean manufacturing/IWS environment.
  • Strong understanding of skills frameworks, capability development and the evolving future of work.
  • Experience working with modern learning technologies, digital learning platforms and Learning Management Systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders across multiple business functions.
  • Strong project and programme management capabilities, with experience delivering complex transformation initiatives.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cultures and functions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in an HR leadership role within a publicly listed company (PLC), ideally London-listed.
  • Sound knowledge of union/employee relations.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20–40% across Europe.
