Summary
To support our manufacturing facility in Pittsburgh by managing and maintaining, servicing, and repairing the facility’s manufacturing and mechanical equipment, buildings, and grounds. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading, motivating, and supporting the Maintenance team in exceeding goals by monitoring and controlling machine run ability, production performance, machine/building condition, plant wide repairs/response, and project-based work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Actively engage in Mondi’s Safety programs, including compliance with Local, State, Federal, and corporate regulations and policies including Safe Quality Food, (SQF) requirements for Mondi.
- Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports, create meaningful feedback discussions that support and enhance employee success, including the development of team succession plans.
- Provide direct supervision of team and drive accountability and performance of staff through finding motivating factors, creating inspiration for your team, and providing resources to help them be successful.
- Utilization of a maintenance management system for department reporting and recordkeeping to track asset performance, keep management informed of strategy, and control budget.
- Work closely with Engineering to design, plan, schedule and complete capital improvement projects.
- Drive regular communication with your team to create organizational awareness and transparency.
- Drive culture of safety, teamwork, continuous improvement and responsiveness to maintenance items.
- Work with production planner/scheduler to develop and execute the maintenance schedule.
- Direct maintenance personnel (and contractors) in the servicing and repairs of equipment, buildings, and grounds
- Lead and conduct troubleshooting and resolution of site production, auxiliary, and building equipment.
- Develop and maintain a cost-effective preventative maintenance system with greater than 95% completion percentage each month.
- Develop and maintain a cost-effective spare parts inventory system, ensuring that critical spares are identified with a plan for obtaining them.
- Maintain records of issues, failures, repairs, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance to achieve current metrics of unplanned down time.
- Manage Upkeep
- Assist in the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance to the budget.
- Meet with appropriate production personnel to communicate maintenance needs and set priorities
- Prepare purchase requisitions for all maintenance needs and track spending
- Support building and grounds services including:
- Manage Janitorial
- Grounds and lawn care services
- Alarm monitoring, security, and communication services
- Manage Waste disposal services
- Manage Construction services
- Execution of vendor contracts and develop local maintenance suppliers and local contractors.
- Actively interact with sister facilities and key suppliers both online and in person
Education and /or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree B.A./B.S. in Engineering from four-year college or university
- Must have 5 years’ experience maintaining and operating experience with converting machinery and strong preference for experience in Food, Printing, or Packaging Industry.
- Must have a high degree of understanding of both electronics and electrical applications
- Must have a good working knowledge of PLC programs, troubleshooting and related technology Certification or formal training preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in a maintenance related environment
- Must have command of computer skills including word, excel, and power point
