Sales Manager Hungary and Slovakia (f/m/x)

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Sales Manager to lead the development of Mondi's business across Hungary and Slovakia.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who thrives on identifying new opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving sustainable business growth. You will play a key role in strengthening Mondi's presence in these strategically important markets by developing new business, managing key customer relationships, and positioning Mondi as a trusted partner for innovative packaging solutions.

 

Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Product Innovation, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Customer Service, and Manufacturing, you will help shape and execute the commercial strategy for Hungary and Slovakia while delivering profitable growth and exceptional customer value.

 

The role requires regular travel across Hungary, Slovakia, and Europe.

 

 

Your mission:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Hungarian and Slovak markets, including customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with prospective customers and strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Define and execute commercial strategies that increase market share and deliver profitable sales growth.
  • Manage and grow key customer relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership.
  • Understand customer requirements and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored packaging solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Mondi's packaging portfolio.
  • Work closely with manufacturing sites and regional teams to ensure the successful delivery of customer solutions.
  • Utilize customer and market insights to support business planning, forecasting, and future growth initiatives.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed agreed sales targets and performance objectives.

 

 

Your profile:

  • You are commercially driven, with a strong hunter mentality and a proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities while building and nurturing long-term customer relationships in a B2B environment.
  • You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are comfortable working independently in a developing market.
  • You are an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of influencing customers and collaborating with colleagues across functions and geographies.
  • You are analytical and solution-oriented, using market insights and customer understanding to identify opportunities and drive growth.
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment, are well-organized, and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • You are curious, proactive, and motivated by creating value for customers through innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Packaging industry experience is a must, ideally within corrugated or paper-based solutions.
  • Fluent English and Hungarian and/or Slovak language skills.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (approximately 50%) across Hungary, Slovakia, and wider European markets to support customer engagement, business development, and commercial activities.
